The First Baptist Church will be celebrating 150 years of service on January 24, 2016. The history and legacy of this church goes as far back as January 1866.
Under the visionary leadership of Pastor Lucien R. Garrett, Sr., the FBC Mass Choir travels included an overseas trip to Italy.

The FBC Mass Choir recored their first album in 1982 entitled "Nothing Is Impossible", under the direction of their minister of music Houston Simmons.
The First Baptist Church is one of the oldest ministry in the River Parish area. January of 2011 will mark it's 145th Year.
